Visiting the Slate Islands

Just under 60 miles from Greenstone Lodge are the stunningly beautiful Slate Islands, we visited recently after a recommendation from our B&B guests , and we were so glad we did! Located in Argyll and approximately 7 miles from Oban you can take a day trip there and still be back in time for your chef cooked vegan meal 😉

The Isle of Seil is linked to the mainland by a beautiful bridge and has 2 pubs offering vegan food options and wonderful views. You can also visit the museum of local history before jumping on the boat to Easdale, which is just a couple of minutes away. We braved a swim in the deep (and cold!) quarries , took a walk around the Island to admire the wildflowers, and climbed to the high lookout point for our plant based picnic lunch. There was just time for a pint in The Puffer (made famous by Banjo Beales BBC makeover) before jumping on a boat back to Ellenabeich. Scotland, and Argyll in particular, really does have it all.
